For Bravery – Rushden Captain Mentioned
Our congratulations are heartily accorded to Capt. and Adjutant T. J. Mumford, of the London Regt., on being mentioned in despatches. The gallant captain was at the Union Bank, Rushden, before joining up on January 1^st three years ago. He selected the Inns of Court O.T.C., and was gazetted the following June. He went to France on January 28^th 1917, where he did fine work, and in October 1917, was made captain and adjutant. He recently appeared in the “Gazette” as mentioned in despatches for bravery in the field on September 22^nd 1917. It will be remembered that Capt. Mumford married Miss M. Brazier, elder daughter of Councillor F. D. Brazier, of Higham Ferrers.
