The Croix de Guerre, the French equivalent of the D.C.M., has been awarded to Pte. George Stevenson, Northants Regiment, only son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Stevenson, of 4 John-street, Rushden. The soldier, who is a native of Rushden, and who is 23 years of age, joined Kitchener's Army in August 1914, immediately following the outbreak of war.
