Mr. and Mrs. A. Prigmore, of 32, Station-road, received this week from the Admiralty a handsome certificate in respect of the distinguished services rendered by their youngest son, Mr. J. C. Prigmore, who served during the war on a motor-boat, and afterwards went to Russia. The certificate is inscribed as follows: "The Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty certify that Chief Motor Mechanic John Charles Prigmore, R.N.V.R., O.N.M.B. 2276, was mentioned in despatches in recognition of distinguished services during the war, and that his name was published in the 'London Gazette' dated 11th November, 1919. The King has commanded that his high appreciation of the services rendered shall be recorded on this certificate by command of their Lordships." The certificate is signed "O. Murray."
Chief Motor Mech. Prigmore was on the vessel from which was fired the first shot when the Vindictive was run into Ostend Harbour.
