Rushden Echo, 20th April 1917, transcribed by Kay Collins
Gunner Sid Bryant
Rushden Soldier Honoured - To Receive a Military Medal

Gunner Sid Bryant, R.G.A., formerly employed by Messrs Tailby and Putnam, Rushden, and later by Mr. C. G. Ward, has been recommended for the Military Medal for conspicuous gallantry during the recent push. Gunner Bryant married a daughter of Mrs. Chettle, of 64 Robinson-road, Rushden, but he had left Rushden at the time of his enlistment. His home is now at Flackwell Heath, Loudwater, Bucks.

In a letter sent to Rushden, his wife writes that Gunner Bryant was picked out for special duty in the great push; that he has come safely through a trying experience and has been recommended for the Military Medal.
