Newsclips - Villages
The first extracts are from the Wellingborough News 1882, and may be added to from time to time. Reports cover a variety of events from parish meetings, school, church, accidents and sales of land or property.
At that time great changes were happening in all parishes, as they became much more organised, and with the great strides in health and welfare following the growth in industries through mechanistation.
This was also the time when many of the non-conformists were erecting new chapels. The fundraising events are so well described they could be recreated now, but the same talents may now be hard to find in villages today.
The formation of the School Boards saw education for all.

Most of the clips about these villages in the Wellingborough News 1882/4 have been extracted - others are interesting notes
found whilst trawling the newspapers for other items. They may be added to from time to time. Additions would be welcomed.
