Raunds - Important Sale of Real Estate — A large company met Mr. F. S. Abbott at the George and Dragon Hotel, on Thursday evening laston the occasion of his submitting to public auction the Manor House estate at Raunds, lately the property of Mr. John Pentelow, deceased. The estate contains altogether about 229 acres. As it had been previously offered in one lot and withdrawn, it was decided to offer the estate in several lots, and this resulted in a large portion of the estate being sold. Mr. W. O. Sanders, Wollaston, was the purchaser at £800 of several lots of arable and pasture land; Mr. John Chester, Raunds, bought lot 3, comprising a close of land nown as “Calley Piece,” containing about 15 acres, for £620; Mr. Enos Smith, Raunds, was the buyer of a close of arable land called “Toothill” containing 6a. 2r. 35p. for £550; Mr. Edmund Roberts, of Gayton, purchased a close of accommodation pasture land called “Park Close” of about 4 acres, for £310; Mr. F. Barlow, of Rothwell, bought a piece of pasture land containing about 4 acres for £570; Mr. A. W. Hollis, Raunds, was the buyer of the farm house and outbuildings for £400; whilst a small paddock containing 2a. 2r. 39p., adjoining the farmhouse, was also sold to Mr. A. W. Hollis for £350. — The sales realised altogether £3600, and from the numerous enquiries made after the auction it is probable that the unsold portions of the property will be quickly disposed of. Messrs. Burnham Son and Lewin, of Wellingborough, were the solicitors for the vendors of the estate.
