Rushden Echo, 25th January 1901, transcribed by Kay Collins
Fall from a ScaffoldYesterday two men employed by Mr. Marriott in the work of enlarging Messrs. Jaques and Clark’s factory in Station-road met with an accident. A plank upon which they were standing broke in half and they fell to the ground. One man, named King, escaped with a shaking, but his fellow-workman, named Sheffield, did not escape so lightly. Happily in his case no bones were broken. He was removed to his home in Westbourne-grove, Wellingborough-road, by Messrs. W. Bromage and J. Parker, members of the Ambulance Corps.
