Clark & Sanders

Right is an advert from the
Phillipson's Directory 1908

The partners were:

John C Clark (born 1866 Islip) and Charles T E Sanders (born 1860 Raunds).

They came to Rushden around 1892 with their wives, and raised their families here.

In 1911 Mr Clark and family emigrated to Australia.

In 1910 they were trading from 9 Church Street and had moved to Coffee Tavern Lane by 1914.
By 1917 the sole proprietor was Arthur Sanders who took over the yard for his building business
and continued with the undertaking of funerals.
