Raised £763 for Memorial
DECLARING open the annual Christmas bazaar in aid of the Wymington Memorial Hall fund on Saturday, Mr. A J. Bignell congratulated the committee on their choice of memorial and on raising £763 to date.
Mr. J. W. Reynolds was the chairman.
The opener was present with a buttonhole and there was a bouquet of carnations for his wife. Buttonholes were also presented to Mr. Reynolds and Mr. W. A. Robinson (chairman of the parish council) who proposed thanks.
Stalls in the schoolroom had been brightly decorated and business was brisk. Stallholders were: linen and fancy work Mrs. Underwood and Mrs. J. Perkins and the Misses E. Desborough and D. Boddington; plants, Messrs. W. Jolley and A. Green; shoes Messrs. W. Robinson and A. Barnes; novelties, Mrs. Scrimshaw; toys and books, Mrs. Keech; competitions, Miss S Higgins and Mrs. N. Lewis; table skittles, Mr. C. Green; refreshments Mesdames J. Lewis, L. Boddington, E. Fisher, G. Harlow, P. Smith. C. Desborough and F. E. Wood; treasure hunt, Messrs. W Chapman and A. Scrimshaw. Doorkeepers were Messrs. E. Higgins, W. Phillips and S. Church.
Arrangements were made by the committee with Messrs C. Desborough and J. Lewis as secretaries.
