Wymington Man “Missing” Since September

Trooper William H. Clayton, Royal Tank Regiment, of Wymington, who had been on the list of “missing and wounded” since September 23rd of last year, is now reported to have been killed in action in Holland on that date.

Tpr. Clayton was 31 years of age, and his wife and mother reside at 46 Rushden-road, Wymington. He had been in the Army for nearly three years, and after the first six months went to Italy and finished his training there. He returned home from Italy last February and went to France during D Day week. Prior to service he was employed by Messrs. C. W. Horrell Ltd., boot manufacturers at Rushden.
