Rushden Echo, September 5th 1919, transcribed by Kay Collins

War Victim—The death took place on Sunday last from paralysis of Mr. George Wooding, aged 24. Deceased had served in the Army—with the Northants Regiment—and had been gassed, and since being demobilised he had not been able to work, as he had never thrown off the effects of the poison gas. A fortnight ago he became worse, and, notwithstanding careful medical treatment, he gradually grew worse. Deceased was unmarried. Before joining the Colours he worked for Messrs. Lawrence Bros., Church-street, Rushden. He was a member of the congregation of the Wymington Independent Wesleyan Chapel. The funeral took place on Wednesday, the Rev. R. C. Law officiating. A service was held in the chapel at 2.30, and the interment took place in the churchyard.
