Property Sale at Rushden - Important Lots

Mr. J. S. Mason offered by auction on Monday at the Waverley Hotel, Rushden, several properties situated in various parts of Rushden, by order of mortgagees.

The first lot, a freehold dwelling-house, with workshop and stabling, 6, Fitzwilliam-street, was purchased by Mr. George Willmott for £100.

A freehold dwelling-house, with baker’s shop, Bake-house, barn, stable, and cart-shed, 57, Moor-road, occupied by Mr. James Knight at a rental of £26, was withdrawn at £350, but was sold privately to Mr. Walter Woodward.

A dwelling-house, 19, Little-street, in the occupation of Mrs. Bull at a rental of £18 per annum, was sold to Mr. Ernest Bayes for £102 10s.

Two houses, 107 and 109, Park-road, in the occupation of Mr. Harry Evans and Mr. Fredk. Clayton, and producing a gross rental of £27 6s., were withdrawn at £280, but sold after the auction to Mr. Eli Wright.

Eight freehold dwelling-houses in Windmill-road and Sartoris-road were offered, including a double-fronted shop and dwelling-house at the corner of the two roads, in the occupation of Mr. Long at a rental of £19 10s.; six freehold dwelling-houses, 3 to 13, Sartoris-road, let at a gross rental of £70 4s. and a dwelling-house, 20, Windmill-road, let at £14 6s. the property was withdrawn at £1,200.

Sale—On Monday and Tuesday Messrs. Hamilton, Palmer, and Co. offered by auction the stock-in-trade, plant, and machinery of Mr. Amos Cave. The boots made extraordinary prices. The cut stuff and leather sold very well, and the machinery fetched a fair price. Among other items were a treeing machine £10/10/0; Standard Rotary welt sewer £85 and a stitcher £75. Two Cox’s slugging machines realised £17 each; a small press £8; Julian rounder £9/15/0; Gimson’s jumper press £45; Giant hell compressor £21; Gimson’s screwer £75; Perfecta tacker £7/10/; Blake sewer £14/10/0; Bed laster £17. The Rushden Wear and Waterproof Leather Co. was sold as a going concern at £55.
