On the right Wills, Horsley's, In the Frame, Net Affair. The 'blue' shop is now Solo supermarket (built as Fine Fare 1960, traded under several names, Gateway, Somerfield, Kwik Save...) and on the corner of Coffee Tavern Lane is Superspot , first opened by Frank Brierley before being run by his daughter. There you never knew what would arrive next, a real assortment of goods arrived: food stuffs, chemist lines, clothing, homewares, etc., and upstairs greetings cards and stationery. Always a surprize to be found there..........
The First Hamblin Associates
opened early in the 1990s but soon closed.
