The company began as A Flavell & Co Ltd, tailors, in about 1925, at 61 High Street South. They moved to 30 High Street about 1932, to this shop with a three-bay window, the central section giving extra window space, leading to the doorway. By 1956 it was trading as Flavell, Hart & Co. and they also opened a branch at Irthlingborough. They were now selling ladies and gents fashions, and were also noted for school uniforms.
