Early Marriages 1839 - 1900

No register is extant for this period but there were clearly marriages
taking place at the Old Baptist Church. When they moved to the new
Church in Park Road in 1900 a new register was started and the
first 5 marriages are stated to have been at the Old Church.

In the list below, one marriage, taken from a certificate (a copy kindly sent to us),
is numbered 181. This perhaps suggests that around 200 marriages may have taken
place at the Old Baptist Church before the new register began in 1900.
