QUEEN'S HEAD HOTEL, HIGHAM FERRERS

WILL sell by auction on Tuesday, 30th Sept., 1890, on the above premises, part of the HOUSEHOLD FURNITURE and Effects of the late Mrs. Lamb, consisting of: Rosewood Piano, oval pier glass in gilt frame, black and gold ditto, mahogany dining table (loose leaf), carved in-laid table, mahogany chairs in horse-hair, lady's and gent.'s ditto, mahogany cheffonier, lace curtains, 3 Brussels carpets, Pembroke table, 3 kitchen tables, 3 coal-hods, fire irons, fenders, bureau, long clock, 2 whatnots, 6 cane-seated chairs, 2 book shelves, quantity of books, 2 chests of drawers, dressing tables and washstands, bedroom chairs, 3 toilet sets, cornice poles and rings, 3 large swing glasses, handsome iron Arabian bedstead, palliasse, wool bed, 2 iron and brass bedsteads, 3 feather beds, 1 flock ditto, bolsters and pillows, blankets, counterpanes, sheets, oil lamps, dish covers, cocoa matting, copper kettles, cooking pots and pans, and numerous other culinary articles, large bath, set of plated harness, bottles, &c., &c.

Higham Ferrers Police Court
Transfer of Licence

A Special Court was held at the Town Hall, Higham Ferrers, on Monday, before the Mayor (Ald. T Patenall) and the Deputy Mayor (Mr Frank Walker).

Mr J Cairns Parker applied for the temporary transfer (until Oct 13th) of the licence of the Queen’s Head, Higham Ferrers, from Harry Ernest Partrick to Joseph Mitchell, of 47 Cromwell-road, Rushden. Mr Parker said that the owners were Messrs Allsop and Son. The testimonials of Mitchell were in the hands of the police, and he understood that they were satisfactory.

Inspector Hankins said that the police were quite satisfied.

The application was granted.
