Pecks Transport Ltd - PX

Pecks Transport Company was founded by Arthur Peck at Wollaston, in 1896. In 1913 he took over the business of George Tomlin, carriers, and moved to their former premises in Carnegie Street, and then in 1927 moved to Washbrook Road. Much of their work was moving shoes and leather for the local traders. The name was changed to PX Ltd in December 1934.

The company was later acquired by British Road Services (B.R.S.). When that closed the site was taken over by Marriott's who were already trading from the neighbouring site. The site was sold in about 2000 and is where Asda Supermarket now stands.
