Impressive Service at Rushden
|

The funeral of the late Mrs. Collins, widow of Mr. Frederick Collins, of Rushden, which took place on Saturday afternoon, evoked many expressions of sympathy, the deceased lady being very highly respected by all who knew her. A brief and impressive service was conducted in the Cemetery Chapel by the Rev. W. F. Harris (Baptist), the mourners being Mr. Henry Collins (son), Mrs. Lucy Stringer (sister), Mr. and Mrs. Percy Collins (son and daughter-in-law), Mr. William Collins (brother-in-law), Mrs Henry Collins (daughter-in-law), Miss Hilda Collins (Grand-daughter), Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mayes (nephew and niece), Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Farey, Mr. T. Tomkins (Northampton), Miss Tomkins (Stagsden), Mr. J. Tomkins, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Potton, Mr. F. J. Sharwood, Mr. A. Spriggs. The whole of the employees at the factory of Mr. P. Collins attended as a tribute of respect to the memory of the deceased. The coffin was of polished oak, panelled top, with solid brass fittings, the inscription on the breastpalet being:- ANNE COLLINS A large company of friends and acquaintances assembled at the Cemetery as a mark of sympathy. There were a number of beautiful wreaths. The funeral arrangements were very efficiently carried out by Messrs. Clark and Sanders, undertakers, and the mourning coaches were supplied by Mr. Asher Abbott. The family of the late Mrs. Collins wish to thank the numerous friends for their kind expressions of sympathy in their sad bereavement. |
