Mr John Clark

The death occurred at his home at 11 Alfred-street, Rushden, on Saturday, of Mr. John Clarke, at the age of 67 years. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Clarke, of Church-street, Rushden, and was an old member of the Temperance Band. His wife passed away eighteen years ago. The deceased was employed by Messrs. W. Claridge, of Rushden, for the long period of 53 years. Mr. Clark had also been associated with the Rushden “Myrtle” Lodge of the Free Gardeners, and was a former officer. One son and one daughter are bereaved.

The funeral took place on Tuesday, the Rev. J. W. Brough conducting a service at the Park-road Wesleyan Church prior to the interment at the cemetery. The mourners were Mr. and Mrs. F. Newman (daughter and son-in-law), Mrs. Timms, Hale, Cheshire, and Mr. T. H. Partridge (sister and brother-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. L. Allen (sister and brother-in-law), Miss F. Partridge, Miss A. Partridge, Mrs. L. Clarke, Mrs. T. L. Partridge, Miss B. Tailby (nieces), and Mr. W. Clark (cousin). Mr. F. Reeves and Mr. Lovell were present, representing the “Myrtle” Lodge of the Free Gardeners.
