The Rushden Echo, 7th December 1917, transcribed by Kay Collins
Mr William Munns

The death took place last Friday, from double pneumonia at 11, Rectory-road, of Mr William Munns, at the age of 53 years. The deceased was only ill one week, and was at work right up to the time that he was compelled to take to his bed. The late Mr Munns, who was a native of Thrapston, was well known in the town, having in his younger days worked as a baker for the Rushden Industrial Co-operative Society. On his marriage he left Rushden for Wellingborough, to enter the employ of Messrs Praed, brewers, and later he held a situation at Hornchurch, Essex, and about two years ago he returned with his family to Rushden. Of recent years he has been in the employ of C.W.S. at Rushden as stoker. The late Mr Munns was a Churchman and a Conservative, and years ago was a member of the Rushden Conservative Club. He leaves a widow and four children to mourn their loss. The funeral took place on Monday at the cemetery, the Rev Theodore James (curate) officiating. The coffin which was of polished elm with brass fittings, bore the inscription:
