In 1865 3 Brothers, Andrew, John and George Dickins moved into Denton's Cottages, later renamed Woburn Place. George came to work as a currier, and brought his wife Sarah with him and eldest child John, who was later joined by 2 brothers, Albert and Jesse.
Albert married Rebecca and they had 3 sons and 3 daughters. The younger son, Harry Reginald Dickens, followed in his father's footsteps playing football in the Rushden and District football league in the 1920's. He also helped train the junior team.
The family moved to Cromwell Road and Harry became one of the 'Rock Boys' and they had this studio photo taken.
Harry Reginald married Betsy and they had 2 sons and a daughter. The younger son, George worked as a booking clerk from 1958-1960, at the Rushden Railway Station before entering the Salvation Army's Training College. Now retired, he returned to the station for the running of the first passenger train in 50 years. (2009)
