The Salvation Army today
The Church have celebrated their Anniversary Weekend on April 8th 2008 with a concert by the Wellingborough Band and Songsters and a service on Sunday 9th with Major George Pilkington. A Home and Family Weekend followed on April14th and 15th with Majors John and Lorna Smith.

The Salvationists continue to provide various services in the town, especially for the young and the old. Group meetings are held weekly; Rainbows, Brownies, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers, which keep the young people busy and well entertained, learning lots of new skills, helping each other, and caring and sharing. An 'over 60's' fellowship meeting is held every Thursday.

Above - list of activities open to the young people.

Top centre - the new Porch entrance to the Worship Hall.

Right - the Olive Branch cafe where friendships are made over a cup of coffee or a snack. The cafe is just undergoing refurbishment. (May 2008)

Above - the Charity Shop is always busy. People drop off any unwanted goods, clothes and furniture, then volunteers sort and price items and put them on display in the shop. A steady stream of visitors call in on a regular basis to see what they can find. The shop raises funds to enable their world wide social works to carry on.

The 'Hearts & Soles' project found a suitcase, just the right size to transport their scanner to and from meetings, in the shop!
