William Childs bought the old Windmill Club and these two houses in 1929. He lived at No.23, sold No.21 to Mr Wilfred Myers, and moved his heel making business to the old club premises. Mr Myers paid £35 being 10% of the selling price, £350, and on the receipt William wrote: “I agree to paint outside front and back of house windows and doors”. Mr Myers paid another £115 pounds, and had £200 mortgage.
