Cycling Accident at Rushden - Irchester Lady Injured - Now Making Good Progress

A nasty accident occurred in Church-street, Rushden, on Sunday evening to Mrs. H. Harris, of Chapel-yard, Irchester.

Mrs. Harris, whose husband, Private H. Harris, of the 2nd Northants Regiment, is at the front, was cycling home, and when near the Congregational Church her terrier dog, which accompanied her, ran into the front wheel of the bicycle, with the result that Mrs. Harris was thrown heavily to the ground. The unfortunate lady was picked up in an unconscious condition and conveyed into the surgery of Dr. H. S. Baker, where every attention was given her by Mrs. Baker and Miss Clipson.

It was found that Mrs. Harris, in addition to being bruised and shaken, had sustained superficial cuts on the nose, lip, and left eye.

On regaining consciousness she was conveyed on the wheel litter to the home of her mother-in-law in North Street by Privates H. Skeeles and H. L. Swindall, of the St. John Ambulance Association. Enquiries made on Tuesday elicited the fact that Mrs. Harris, although still confined to her bed, was making satisfactory progress.
