Dial Farm - Bedford Road

Extract from the Baptist Church History:
Twelve members were suspended and together they set up a
Meeting House in Sept 1848 at Dial Farm, the home of George Day.
By 1851 he and wife Elizabeth and two sons were at home, one helping
on the farm which was just ten acres, and one shoemaking.

Occupied in 1909 by Mr F Whittemore

The farm was sold to Rushden Co-operative Society in 1910,
and Frederick moved to Bencroft Grange.

Rushden Echo, February 8th 1924, transcribed by Kay Collins

Housing—A fair number of plots on the Rushden Co-operative Society’s Dial Farm estate, Bedford-road, have been sold, proof of the demand for cheap land for houses. In other parts of the town also many plots have been sold, and it is said that building contractors of the district have several months’ contracts in hand.
