The deceased lady, who was well-known and highly respected in the town and district, had had a long and trying illness having been smitten with partial paralysis, which rapidly developed about Christmas time, since when she has been practically unable to walk.

For very many years she was a member of Park-road Baptist Church, and as a child passed through the Sunday school. She was the eldest daughter of Mr. David Darnell, who is a senior deacon of the church.

The late Mrs. Knight had for many years past of the Rushden branch of the B.W .T.A., and right up to the time of her death was a member of the committee, in which connection she had put in much useful work. For the past two years she had been a vice-president of the association and in view of her activities and wholehearted sympathies in temperance work in general she will be greatly missed.
