Mr. Walter Gadsby, of Cliff College, who is taking up a pastoral work at Brigg next Sunday, presided at the Park-road Wesleyan Adult Bible Class last Sunday afternoon, when Mr.Scrivener gave a paper on "The law of the letter and the spirit." In the evening Mr.Gadsby preached in the North-street Mission Room to a large congregation.

Farewell – Several addresses expressive of the high esteem in which the Rev. Walter J. Gadsby is held were made on Monday evening in the Park-road Wesleyan schoolroom at a meeting in connection with the Adult Bible Class. Mr. Gadsby left Rushden yesterday (Thursday) morning for Cliff College, Derbyshire, for the day, and tomorrow (Saturday) morning will sail from Liverpool for Belize, British Honduras, Central America, for service in connection with the Wesleyan foreign missionary station there. Mr. S. Michell presided at the meeting on Monday night, and spoke of the way in which Mr. Gadsby had endeared himself to the members of the Adult Bible Class and of the Church generally. Mr. H. Staniland, Mr. A. Short and others also spoke of Mr. Gadsby’s ability and character, and wished him God-speed in his new sphere of labour across the Atlantic. Mr. Gadsby feelingly replied, and the meeting closed with the hymn “God be with you till we meet again.”
