John Whittington, M.P.S.

The site had formerly been the Palace Cinema entrance but it closed down in November 1956. Express Cleaners had occupied the premises built on the site, and in 1964 it was taken by Duncan Chemist's of Irthlingborough, and then sold to Herbert & Herbert. The new owners employed John Whittington as dispenser and manager.

In about 1976 John Whittington took over Herbert & Herbert's shop. Then in 1985 he expanded and moved to central High Street.
