Nationwide in 2026 during roofing replacement

But in 2022 it celebrated 100 years since opening in 1922!

During the last few years we have seen most banks close, leaving Nationwide to pick up the pieces. And what a great job they have been doing. You can call in even without an appointment sometimes, and you can talk to a member of staff or even the Manager.

All have been extreemly willing and always happy to help us one and all. Well done to them.

Now in 2026 the roof is being replace with new roof tiles making it one of the finest building in the current High Street.

Gone are the days when shop fronts were swept daily, and weeds cleared. Little abounds today on all our streets and road network throughout the county, and wider country, as can be seen. People eating in the streets dropping food for pigeons, or rats!!!

The Rushden & Higham Wombles are trying to make amends, so come on Rushden, lets tidy up for all our benefit.
