The Original Factory Shop
After notching up 17 years of trading in Rushden ‘The Original Factory Shop’ closed on Saturday 21st March 2026. It was situated at 147 High Street between The Railway public house and Station Road. On the day of our visit the place was looking like the end was in sight - this was on the Friday prior to ‘everything must go’ and on Saturday it had all gone. Some pairs of shoes were priced at just £3. On the actual day of closure of the Rushden branch of ‘The Original Factory Shop’ the weather was sunny and 14 C.
The building had been used before and during the mid 1980 ‘Kwik Save’ traded there. Looking to the left, you would have seen ‘Sam’s Place’ - a sort of wine bar and restaurant with a disco being provided for customers. This was run by Harry Graney and Nigel Reynolds. Later on BMW windows used that as a showroom for a period too. To check on the local weather for your event, go to our weather station at http://www.rushden-weather.co.uk/
