Born at Bury St Edmunds, enlisted at Stratford-on-Avon.

Brother of Bertie Wing.

When Harry Stanley Wing enlisted on 8th December 1915, he was aged 32 years and 120 days, and he was living at 33 West Street, Stratford-on-Avon, and working as butchery manager. He was examined on 4th May 1916 at Warwick and was 5' 7½" tall, weight 159½lbs, with chest 40" (3½" expansion). His mother, Mrs. Letitia Ann Wing (his next of kin) lived at 11 Irchester Road, Rushden. Harry went to France on 26th May 1915 and was killed in action on 29th April 1918.

Rushden's Casualty List

Gunner H S Wing, R.G.A., son of Mrs Wing, of Irchester-road, Rushden, was killed in action on April 29th, news to that effect having been received on Tuesday last. Deceased, who was 34 years of age, had been in France two years. The late Gunner Wing was at first attached to the guns, and was afterwards appointed a dispatch rider. This is the second bereavement Mrs Wing has sustained in the was, another son (Sergt. B Wing) having been killed in July, 1916.
