Rushden Soldier Wounded - A Second Casualty
Pte George H Watson, 2nd Northants Regt, son of Mr J W Watson, of Queen-street, Rushden, was yesterday officially reported to be wounded, this being the second time. He was originally in the 1st Northamptons, and was wounded at the end of November. He went back in April, and was transferred to the 2nd Battalion, and has now been wounded again.

Rushden Soldier Missing - Twice Reported Wounded - Pte George H Watson of the 'Steelbacks'
In last week's "Rushden Echo" we announced that Pte George H Watson, 9462, of the 2nd Northants Regt., (son of Mr J W Watson, of 155 Queen-street, Rushden), was officially reported wounded. Pte Watson's parents have now received official news from the Infantry Record Office, Warley, to the effect that he was posted as missing on May 9th. It is pointed out that the term "missing" does not necessarily mean that the soldier is killed or wounded, as he may be an un-wounded prisoner or temporarily separated from his regiment.
Pte Watson was originally in the 1st Northamptons and was wounded at the end of November. In April he returned to the front and was transferred to the 2nd Northamptons, being last week officially reported wounded. Pte Watson's parents would be thankful if any of his comrades could give them information concerning him.

Rushden Soldier Missing - Private G H Watson Presumed to be Killed - Official Intimation After Eighteen Months
 Mr and Mrs J W Watson, of 155 Queen-street, Rushden, received a letter from the Record Office at Warley by mid-day post on Wednesday stating that the authorities, being unable to obtain news of their son, Pte George H Watson, who has been missing since May 9th, 1915, as reported in the "Rushden Echo" at the time, have presumed that he was killed on that date.
Pte G H Watson enlisted in the 1st Northants four years ago, at the age of 18 years, and went out to France with that regiment shortly after was broke out, being wounded in the following November. He then came to England, and was transferred to the 2nd Northants, going out to France again in March, 1915. He was in the big battle on May 9th, 1915, and nothing has been heard of him since.
