Trooper Carl Smith
Grave RV18 - Rushden Cemetery
Carl Smith's name on Rushden War Memorial Panel and (right) at the National Memorial Arboretum. Part of the list for that year - already 16,000 names are recorded there.
The National Memorial Arboretum opened in 2000 at Alrewas, Staffordshire to commemorate those who have fallen in conflicts since 1945. The site has been reclaimed from gravel pits, and is beautifully laid out with thousands of trees and forms part of a National Forest.
On Saturday 16th August 2008, Rushden & District History Society members took a bus trip to visit the Memorial Gardens and Arboretum.
