Rushden Soldier Killed - Pte Fred Panter - A Victim of the War
Pte Fred Panter, of the 1st Northants Regt., was, according to an intimation received from the War Office, killed in action on Jan. 8th. His mother formerly lived in Washbrook-road, Rushden, but for the last two years has resided in Canada. Prior to joining the Army, Pte Panter was employed in the shoe trade, and he worked in the factory of Messrs. Nurrish and Pallet, Rushden. Deceased was 21 years of age in April.

Rushden Man Killed in Action
We are sorry to learn that Private Fred Panter, of the 1st Northants, a Rushden man, has been officially reported killed. His mother used to reside in Washbrook-road, Rushden, but emigrated two years ago to Canada. The War Office stated that he was killed in action on January 8th.
