Pte George Knightall Succumbs to Wounds - Athletic Club's Sympathy

News has been received from official sources that 14569 Pte George Knightall, of the Northants Regt, second son of Mr William Knightall, of 119, Glassbrook-road, Rushden, died of wounds on July 14th, 1916. His father had previously received news that he was missing and doubtless official news of his death which has just come to hand, has been sent in response to his numerous enquiries.

The late Pte Knightall, who was 25 years of age, enlisted in Kitchener's Army at the outbreak of the war, and he had been a the front 12 months when he met his death. He had not previously been wounded. Prior to enlistment he was in the employ of Messrs. Duncan and Davidson, Sartoris road, Rushden. The late Pte Knightall was a member of the Rushden Athletic Club, and was connected with the club's gymnasium class and a number of years. Mr Knightall has received a very nice letter of sympathy form the committee of the club.

Rushden Soldier Dies of Wounds

Official news has been received of the death from wounds received in action of Pte. George Knightall (Northants Regt.), the second son of Mr. William Knightall, of 119, Glassbrook-road, Rushden. Pte. Knightall, who was previously posted “missing”, is now reported to have died on July 14th. The late soldier, who was 25 years of age, enlisted at the outbreak of was, and went to the front during 1915. He formerly worked for Messrs. Duncan and Davison, and was a member of the Athletic Club.
