Rushden's Casualty List

Mr and Mrs EA Baldrey, of 52 King's road, Rushden, have received an official notification that their eldest son, Pte William Edward Baldrey, Suffolk Regiment, was killed in action between April 8th and 12th. The late Pte Baldrey, who was aged 20, was employed at the C.W.S. Boot Works, Rushden, up to the time of enlistment on May 25th last year. He was drafted to the Western front in September last, and six weeks ago was home on leave. He had only returned to the Western front three weeks when he met his death. The deceased soldier, who was a nephew of Lance-Corpl Leonard Dickens (whose death is unofficial reported in this column), as a lad he passed through the Park-road Baptist and Independent Wesleyan Sunday schools, Rushden. Mr and Mrs Baldrey desire to express their sincere thanks for the many expressions of sympathy they have received in their sad bereavement.

Rushden Man Killed

Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Baldrey, of 52, King’s-road, Rushden, have been officially informed of the death of their eldest son, Pte. William Edward Baldrey, Suffolk Regt., who was killed in action on 8th-12th April. Pte. Baldrey joined H.M. Forces on May 25th, 1917, and went to France in September. Before enlisting he worked at the C.W.S. Factory, Rushden. He was 20 years of age.
