Mr William Warren, was the first man to start in business as a carrier between Rushden and Wellingborough, using a donkey and cart. A woman had also been doing similar work with a donkey transport. Mr Warren later on had had a horse and van. He was in the carrying business for 28 years, living in Bedford-road, Rushden.
