A piece of film was taken by the late Bill Houghton in about 1970:

"Presenting a new Minibus service for Rushden"

"The Rushden Rider was launched in response to many requests for better public transport from outlying parts of the town. There are four routes, each designed to help people get to the town centre, clinics and doctors’ surgeries.

The service is controlled by Clive from High Street Taxis office in John Street. The vehicle is operated by Eddie, a quite, conscientious, efficient driver. He is courteous and most helpful, assisting with shopping trolleys and helping passengers board and leave the bus."
