The Rushden Historical Transport Society
welcomes you to our very first Grand Cavalcade and Exhibition, and we hope you have a thoroughly enjoyable day.
The Society was formed by a handful of local transport enthusiasts in the Autumn of 1976 and since that time it has developed rapidly. Today we have over 60 members spread over East Northants and North Bedfordshire.
One of the first decisions taken by the members was that the new society should attempt to cover all aspects of the transport scene. Although a majority of members are primarily interested in Steam Railways other topics featured at the monthly meetings include Old Transport Toys, Buses, Aircraft, Trams Commercial Vehicles and even the Phonogram (how did that get in?)
A Newsletter is circulated at two monthly intervals and in 1978 a full programme of Summer visits was also introduced.
If you would like to know more about our society why not come along to one of our monthly meetings held at 7.45 p.m. on the last Tuesday of the month at the Clubroom in The Rose and Crown, High Street. You will certainly be very welcome.
Thank you for your support today.
