Trade Move
Messrs. Denton Bros., boot manufacturers, are removing their business from Irchester to Rushden, where they have acquired the factory formerly occupied by E. Claridge and Sons. The transfer, which commences this week, facilitates reorganisation and extension. Mr. H. J. Perkins, for many years with Messrs. B. Denton and Sons Ltd., has been appointed manager.

Brothers Charles and David Denton had taken over the company. But trade was poor, and 220 were made redundant. They moved to part of the Irchester Road factory, formerly Eatons, and later took over the Tyrell's retail shop in the rest of the factory.

The brothers bought out other shareholders, and then brought in John Hawkesfield as non-executive chairman. Charles had qualified with a business degree and used his skills to analyse strengths and weaknesses of the company.

A niche market was found and they began specialising in wide fitting shoes. They now distribute all over the world.
