Miss Winifred Whiting
Miss Winifred Whiting, eldest daughter of Fireman J. Whiting and Mrs. Whiting, of the Fire Station, Rushden, celebrated her coming-of-age at the B.W.T.A. Hall on Monday, when a happy party of over 60 guests were entertained to an excellent tea and social gathering. Dancing was indulged in, to music provided by Mr. H. Tear (piano) and Mr. F. Bayes (violin). Mr. W. Lowe acted as M.C. Games were played, and at intervals songs were rendered by Miss J. Rivitt, Miss Rowe, and Mr. and Mrs. Underwood, of Higham Ferrers, Mr. Underwood also contributing a pianoforte selection. Congratulations and many costly presents were received by Miss Whiting. The party broke up about 11.30. Miss Whiting is a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Leeding.
