| The marriage took place quietly on Saturday, at St. Mary’s Church, of Miss Mabel Ellen Turner, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Turner, of High-street South, Rushden, and Lance-Corpl. Geo. Pinyoun, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pinyoun, of Lewes. The Rev. W. H. Pelham (Curate) officiated. The bride, given away by her father, wore a choice saxe blue dress, with black hat trimmed with ostrich plumes. Mr. Chas. A. Brown, of Maldon, was best man. Miss Dora Turner (youngest sister of the bride), the bridesmaid, was prettily dressed in white embroidered voile, with white picture hat trimmed with black ribbon, velvet, and pink roses. The bride carried a sheaf of lilies, and the bridesmaid a bouquet of sweet peas. Private A. C. Turner obtained leave to attend his sister’s wedding. No reception was held on account of the war and bereavement in both families. Mr. and Mrs. Pinyoun subsequently left for Lichfield, where the bridegroom is stationed. The bride wore a covert coating travelling costume, with hat to correspond. There were many lovely presents. |
