In 1901 The Perkins family was living at 51 High Street South. Nathaniel was head of the house. He said he was born at Yelvertoft, c1847 and worked as a road maker. His wife Mary said that she was born in Rushden c1854. In 1871 Mary was with her married sister, Eliza at Burton Latimer.
Nathaniel and Mary (nee Bird) were married in 1875, probably at Yelvetoft. A daughter, Clara was born the following year. In 1877 Rachel was born, then Naomi (later called Louisa) was born in 1883, Kate in 1885 and Sydney in 1895, all in the Wellingborough District.
The family were living in 1881 at Orlingbury, when Mary said she was born at West Wood, and by 1891 they had moved to Rushden.
They lived in one of the cottages next to the Co-op Store No 1.
In 1911 the family are still in Rushden, but Nathaniel was in Wellingborough Workhouse.
