The High Street South shop (Dept No 1), was opened in 1894 as a Drapery and Grocery shop. The Butchery shop adjoined.

The Co-op shop in High Street South and
row of cottages before this house on the corner of Crabb Street.
Behind the shop at right angles to the road there was a long row of cottages, now partly demolished, named Co-op Row.
