Miss K Whiteman, the Divisional Commissioner, performed the ceremony on behalf of the old Guides of the Company who had given the flag in memory of the late Miss M E Wills, founder of the St. Peter’s Company.

After the ceremony a short talk was given by Miss Whiteman on the Trefoil Guild and the Guide International Service. The remainder of the evening was devoted to games, entertainment and camp-fire songs, and refreshments were served by the old Guides.

On Sunday, officers and Guides attended the evening service at the church, when the World Flag was dedicated by the Rev. E. Hirst. A moving tribute was paid to the service Miss Wills had given to the movement. After the dedication and blessing of the flag, the colour-bearer, escorted by the Company colours and colour party led by their present captain, Miss O Elliott, proceeded to the south-west corner of the church where the colours were placed in an oak standard holder suitably inscribed to Miss Wills’s memory.
