The Late Mrs. Hewitt Laid to Rest

The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Anne Hewitt, of High-street, Rushden, widow of the late Mr. Charles Hewitt, took place on Thursday amid many signs of deep sympathy and respect forthe departed lady. The deceased lady passed away on January 17th at the age of 77 years, The funeral service was conducted at the house of the deceased lady by the Rev. C. J. Keeler, after which the cortege proceeded to the cemetery. The family mourners were Miss Hewitt (daughter), Mr. Smith (nephew), Miss B. Hewitt (daughter), Mr. W. Hewitt (nephew), Mrs. Bonner (sister), Mr. Bonner (nephew), Mrs. Bates (niece), Miss L. Smith (niece), and Miss Clark (friend). By special request there were no flowers, except one wreath from the family, which was lowered into the grave. The coffin was of plain unpolished oak. |
