Mrs. Martha Ann Harrison

The Death took place on Tuesday afternoon at 12 West-street, Rushden, of Mrs. Martha Ann Harrison, wife of Mr. Arthur Harrison, at the age of 56 years. The deceased lady had borne ten months’ painful illness with remarkable patience. She leaves a husband, three sons—and three daughters to mourn their loss. The late Mrs. Harrison was the mother of Pte. Jack Harrison, ex-middle-weight boxing champion, and former holder of the Lonsdale belt. The funeral took place this (Friday) afternoon at the cememetry, The Rev. C. J. Keeler officiating. The coffin, which was of polished elm with brass fittings, bore the inscription:-

MARTHA ANN HARRISON.
Died March 19th 1918.
Ages 56 years.

The mourners included: Mr. A Harrison (husband) and Mrs. S. Jarvis (daughter), Pte. F. Harrison and Miss Edith Harrison (son and daughter, Master A. Harrison and Miss Emily Harrison (son and daughter), Mr. and Mrs. C. White (brother-in-law and sister), Mr. and Mrs. F. Tompkins (brother and sister-in-law), Messrs. J. and H. Tompkins (brothers), Mr. and Mrs. W. Craxton (brother-in-law and sister-in-law), Miss Rose Lilleyman (friend), and Miss Edna Harrison (niece). A number of wreaths were placed on the grave. Mr. Arthur Sanders was the undertaker.
