Rushden Echo & Argus, 29th December 1944
Mr Frank Chapman

On a Christmas visit to Kettering, the well-known Rushden window cleaner, died suddenly on Christmas Day at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Skinner, 9 Vale-street. He was 52 years of age, and resided at 121 Park-road, Rushden.

Born at Rushden, Mr. Chapman was first employed by Mr. C. Robinson, newsagent. From 1910 to 1912 he was in Australia, and on his return to Rushden he began a window-cleaning business in which he was assisted by his father. After war service with the Bedfordshire Yeomanry in Egypt he resumed the window cleaning, and during the present war he gave part of his time to delivering milk for the Rushden Co-operative Society. He was a member of the Working Men's Club.

A widow, two sons and a daughter are left. One of the sons is in the Navy and the other in the Army. The eldest son, Dick, was recently listed as "presumed killed" on R.A.F. operations. Mr. Chapman's parents are still alive and reside at the Court Estate, Rushden. The interment will be at Rushden on Saturday morning at 11.30 after a service at Fuller Baptist Church Kettering.
