The funeral of the late Miss Doris Bland, whose death was reported in our last issue, took place at the Rushden Cemetery on Tuesday. In sympathy with the relatives of the deceased lady, the factory of Messrs Nurrish and Pallett, where Miss Bland had worked, was closed down in the afternoon. There were many signs of the high esteem in which Miss Bland was held, and the chief mourners were: Mr and Mrs J Anderson (father and mother), Mr and Mrs W Bland (brother and sister-in-law), Mr and Mrs A Cox (brother-in-law and sister), Mr Len Bland and Miss Joan Anderson (brother and sister), Mr and Mrs F Bigley, Mr and Mrs F Palmer, Mr and Mrs G Palmer, Mr and Mrs C Bland, Mr and Mrs H Travil, Mrs F Gates, Mr J Blundell, Mrs J Bland (uncles and aunts), Miss Ivy Burgess (friend), Master L Allen (cousin), and Mrs A Parker (friend). By the kind arrangement of Messrs Nurrish and Pallett, there were four bearers representing the factoryMr E Shrives (foreman of the clicking department), Mr J Evans, Mr C Richardson, and Mr T Jinks (employees in the clicking department). The Rev C J Keeler was the officiating minister.
