Rushden Argus, 17th April 1903, transcribed by Kay Collins
Green - Hardwick

A very interesting wedding took place on Monday last at the Park-road Baptist Church. The contracting parties were Mr Herbert Green, eldest son of Mr Joseph Green, High-street, Rushden, and Miss Nellie Hardwick, daughter of Mr E Hardwick, of Higham Ferrers. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr W Hardwick, and the bridegroom was accompanied by his two brothers, Mr Percy Green and Mr Leonard Green, Mr Percy Green acting as best man. The bride wore a cream dress, trimmed with silk and lace and hat to match. She carried a choice bouquet of white lilies, white hyacinths, white tulips and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Louie Hardwick, sister of the bride, and Miss Hales (wearing dresses of white muslin over pale blue, and black picture hats.) Miss A Howard, Miss Florrie Green and Miss Gertie Green, sisters of the bridegroom (wearing pale blue muslin dresses trimmed with pale blue silk and cream insertion, and hats to match), Miss Daisy Willmott, London, cousin of the bridegroom (wearing a dress of cream silk over a pale green silk slip). Miss Willmott carried a large bouquet of marguerites. A large wedding party was held in the evening at the “Feathers” Hall, which was very prettily decorated for the occasion by Messrs. Seckington & Son, the guests numbering nearly a hundred. [part of a longer report]
